15 Amazing Blogs You Should Read Too
So when I posted How To Use RSS To Help You Stay Easily Informed and Save Time, I said that the following day I would post about my favorite blogs. That following day came, and life happened. I ended up serving an extra service at Church and just did not have the time to complete the post. So I apologize if you were waiting, so without further ado, here it is.
Again, two days ago I posted about RSS Feeds and RSS Readers. If you missed that post and do not know what RSS Feeds and Readers are or you want to learn more, click here.
Today I am posting about my favorite blogs and information feeds that I have added to my RSS Reader. The blogs that I read tend to instill the same values that I hope to in my Blog, living compassionately, positivity, self-value, and empowerment. Keep reading, and you may find some new reads too.
Faith Based Blogs
This Blog features posts from a variety of voices. It focuses on timely and culturally relevant Christian young adult topics including relationships, adulthood, and faith. As a twenty-something woman, I enjoy this Blog because the issues correlate to where I am in my life. I would recommend this Blog if you are also a millennial trying to navigate your life and "find your place."
Church Online Blog
The Church Online Blog is part of Life.Church, the Church I attend! The Blog features posts that are supplemental to different messages and message series from Life.Church. You don't have to go to a Life.Church campus or even watch Church Online to benefit from this Blog. The Church Online and the Church Online Blog state that they help anyone who wants to "Find hope in Jesus, Connect with a community that cares, and Become a spiritual contributor."
Women of Faith
Focused on women, this Blog is full of encouragement, humor, acceptance, and spiritual insight. The Blog offers posts from a variety of diverse voices and seeks to unite all women in love and community. I recommend this Blog to any woman trying to deepen her relationship with God and looking for a fellowship of women to do life with.
Beauty and Fashion Blogs
Dedicated to cruelty-free and vegan beauty and lifestyle, this Blog contains a ton of great information. For those who have questions about cruelty-free or are new to cruelty-free, the Blog provides thorough shopping lists, and perfume, foundation, and mascara guides. Also, a staple feature for me is the cruelty-free brand list which is updated weekly. I have the list saved to my phone! Tashina Combs of Logical Harmony does such an extensive and fantastic job researching for anyone wanting to live a more compassionate life.
If you have read my post A New Way to Think About Modesty then you may remember that I have chosen to dress more modestly for my own spirit and to honor my Creator. Downtown Demure has provided me with many tips and tricks for modest, yet totally stylish fashion. This Blog isn't all fashion either; you can find food for the soul here too.
Dress Yourself Happy
Serein Wu of Dress Yourself Happy is a rockstar. Not only is she a blogger, but she also has a podcast and a hugely successful YouTube channel. The Blog posts on a lot of different topics such as beauty, fashion, travel, health, fitness, food, life, and content creator tips. What I admire about Serein Wu is that she is incredibly dedicated, hardworking, positive, and uplifting. Engaging with her content is like a glorious escape.
Chocolate Covered Katie
Oh, there is so much to say about this Blog! This was one of the first blogs that I found when I was transitioning to a vegetarian/vegan diet and didn't even realize I was. I LOVE desserts, and chocolate, this Blog contains both of those, but with healthier ingredients. Though this Blog is primarily a food blog, it also contains posts related to blogging and being body positive which you know I am passionate about. If you want to have your cake and eat it too, go check out this Blog! Katie also has two cookbooks Chocolate-Covered Katie Cookbook and an eBook Hello Breakfast. I do not have either of these cookbooks, and I do not know why, but I need to put them on my wishlist for sure!
Oh She Glows
Another Blog which I frequently read in the early days of going vegetarian/vegan. Angela's recipes are more savory than sweet, perfect for every meal and every day. Also, Angela's story is one I can completely relate too. Angela's About pages explains that "I started Oh She Glows to write about my recovery from an eating disorder, my journey to health, and the amazing transformation that food can make in our lives." This statement is truly enlightening. While Oh She Glows focuses on recipes, there are also posts about travel, inspiring thoughts, and motherhood. The Oh She Glows Cookbook is also fantastic. I do not have her second cookbook yet, Oh She Glows Every Day: Quick and Simply Satisfying Plant-based Recipes, but I am sure it is also fantastic, and I hope to get it eventually.
This Rawsome Vegan Life
Maybe eating raw food doesn't sound appealing to you, but go check out this Blog and you will change your mind! Em's raw vegan recipes range from drinks, salads, entrees, snacks, pies, cakes, cupcakes, tarts, ice cream, bars, cookies, sauces, spreads, and toppings. I have taken some of Em's desserts to family events, and they go over well. You do not have to be vegan or a raw foodist to enjoy these recipes. The Blog also has some posts on body and beauty. Em has three cookbooks Rawsome Vegan Baking (which I have), 100 Best Juices, Smoothies & Healthy Snacks, and The Rawsome Vegan Cookbook.
If you have an addiction to sprinkles and baking, this Blog may be for you! I thinking baking is such a therapeutic and creative activity and that is how I stumbled upon this Blog. Sally takes phenomenal photographs of the baking process and the final baked goods, don't be surprised if you find yourself with a long list of recipes you want to make. I like the Blog's organization as well. You can search for recipes by category, season, and ingredient. Though the recipes are not primarily vegan, there are some vegan recipes. Sally has two cookbooks, Sally's Baking Addiction: Irresistible Cookies, Cupcakes, and Desserts for Your Sweet-Tooth Fix (You can get it here or here) and Sally's Candy Addiction: Tasty Truffles, Fudges & Treats for Your Sweet-Tooth Fix (You can get it here or here). I do have the first book, and I have successfully made many of the recipes vegan by using vegan ingredient substitutes.
